Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda has been given a 10-place grid penalty for the Canadian Grand Prix after passing Oscar Piastri under red flag conditions during practice at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. Piastri triggered the red flag by hitting the ‘wall of champions’ and suffering damage. Tsunoda overtook Piastri at high speed, citing concerns for debris from Piastri’s car. The stewards found Tsunoda’s actions unjustified, resulting in penalty points on his superlicence. Tsunoda, who joined Red Bull in April, will now start the race from the back of the grid in 20th place.
